Where to stay in Tagaytay

Last weekend trip was very spontaneous. We had a long drive to Tagaytay and arrived there at the wee hour of the night. After buying some stuff on 7eleven at Tagaytay Rotonda, we then looked for an inn where we can stay until morning.

First thing in mind when you say room for rent in Tagaytay is Keni Po. Since it was Friday, Keni Po do not have available rooms to accomodate us. So we just looked for another inn. We stumbled upon Rehm Apartelle and just got our luck. We decided to stay there because we do not want to gamble our chance for a 500 worth of rooms in Picnic Groove.

In Rhem's Apartelle, you can choose a room on the 2nd floor for 1500 pesos and a room on the 1st floor for 1300. We took the room on the second floor. 1500 pesos comes with a hot and cold shower, aircondition, cable TV, WIFI, and a breakfast for two. The staffs were really accommodating, they even gave us 2 extra bed since we were four that night.

Here is the view of the room

There is also a veranda with a nice view (the apartelle was on the other side of the taal volcano so you cannot see it on the veranda)

Here is the verenda.

Rehm Apartelle is located at 213 Francisco Road, Tagaytay City. It is along Tagaytay-Sta Rosa Road. From Tagaytay Rotonda, follow the way to Picnic Groove Rhem is on the driver's side if your coming from Rotonda, but it is on the passenger's side if you came from Sta. Rosa and on the way to Tagaytay Rotonda. It is near El Paseo so if you see it you are on the right track.

Seafood Island

Blackbeard's Seafood Island
Located at 1140-1141 level 1 Trinoma Mall

Because its Marvin's birthday we headed to Trinoma for a quick dinner last Friday. Jemima is on a no-pork diet because of lenten season so we ended up having a boodle fight of seafood the pirate's way.

The gang had a Bento boodle consisting of Sashimi, tofu, crab, beef teriyaki, pork tonkatsu, chicken, salmon belly and miso soup.

Miso soup

Bento boodle = 670 pesos good for 3-4 person.

The birthday boy and his bento treat.

Bottomless Iced Tea is 95 pesos.
Hint: We ordered only 1 bottomless iced tea and share. You can do this on any restaurant just don't let any crew or staff see you :D

Total bill : 833.30
The food was great I love the Sashimi the most. 670 pesos is definitely worthit

The Secret Recipe revealed

Secret Recipe
Located at 2/F Mega Atrium.

I've been wanting to eat at this restaurant for months, until I finally gave in.

The place was a bit small but it has a cozy environment and a very accommodating staffs. They offer a variety of foods that is somehow pricey for a budget conscious person like me. Secret Recipe also offers an all in merienda for only 150 pesos, you can avail it from 2pm up to 6pm daily, just ask the waiter about their promo.

I had mushroom chicken that comes with a mini serving of vegetable salad and a large cup of rice. The combination of the salad's dressing and the chicken sauce is delicious. The chicken is tender and big, this meal will get your tummy full I swear.

Mushroom Chicken = 230 pesos

Luisa had Meatball pasta and Iced tea

Meatball Pasta = 220 pesos, Iced Tea = 50 pesos

And for dessert we ordered an Oreo cheese cake since their blueberry cheese cake was not available. I love love love the sweet and a bit sour taste of the cake it was a perfect combination ( I guess the sour taste is because of the sour cream)

Oreo cheese cake = 140 pesos

*Pardon me for the poor quality of pictures, I do not have enough time to edit it and I only used a camera phone. The pictures do not give justice to the food :P

And one thing, do not forget to give a tip because they do not add service charge on your bill.
